Thinking about going Poo-Free…

1 12 2008

There is this whole Green movement going on out there.  I was watching one of the news magazine shows last week (either 20/20 or Dateline) and they were interviewing a woman who recycles so much that she only has 1 can of garbage a month.  I thought about that and decided, I don’t like to compost and buying in bulk doesn’t work for me, and I’m not ready for that at this point in my life.

So, today, I was reading about going shampoo and conditioner free.  And I thought, “this could be my small contribution to the green movement!”  I’ve tried a shampoo and conditioner brand called Organix that’s not harmful to the environment.  It wasn’t great, my hair was in awful shape!!  A HOT MESS!!!

Going “poo-free” calls for using baking soda as shampoo and apple cider vinegar as conditioner.  I’m going to do some more investigating into this movement and set up a controlled experiment.  Especially, some before and after pics!  I will keep you all posted…

It’s Finally Here…

Thank God, the new 3G iPhone finally has a release date!  July 11, 2008.

I’ve had my current phone for about two and a half years, and have been looking at getting a new Photobucketphone for a couple of weeks now.  I have the Motorola SLVR L7 and I feel that the phone is a bit old technology wise.  The phone is still good, but it’s time for some new wheels!  I’ll probably retire this phone to either my parents or one of my nephews in Greece.

The release comes at a perfect time in my search.  I was thinking that would spend either $100 or $200, and the significant price drop helped me reach a clear decision!!  Yes, my bill would be a bit higher as I would have to add a data plan to take advantage of the of all the phone’s capabilities, however, I think that it will be well spent.  Now, I am hoping I can get my hands on a new phone the day it comes out, but I think I have an “in” on the situation. Photobucket

PREM. STRAIGHT LEG JEAN rinse wash
Available in 2 colors $8.98

This weekend I had a chance to check out the Sarah Jessica Parker clothing line Bitten at my local Steve and Barry’s. Let me say, I was impressed. The line is very basic, allowing you to layer several pieces to create a look. I was impressed with the variety of jeans, there were many different washes and style of jeans. All the pieces were priced at $8.98. Although, I didn’t try on any clothes, I’m a bit skeptical about the quality. But what can you expect for $8.98?? I did like the fact there were many basics, of which I am a huge fan!!
